Urban Landscape Design: Restoration & Renovation Of Enqelab St. In Front Of Tehran University, Iran

This site similar to the rest of dense urban areas in Tehran suffers from the severe air pollution from vehicle emissions and heavy traffic. The city covers by smog making breathing difficult and causing widespread pulmonary illnesses. The lack of green and open spaces among other issues needs to be addressed in this project.

The Enqelab St. has historically been a political and intellectual corridor in Tehran. The existence of educational and cultural facilities, bookstores, political institutions, cinemas, and museums make this street an icon in evolving nature of Tehran. Tehran history shows this street has always had a significant impact on Tehran's urban landscape too. Its importance can not be ignored because other streets branch out from this street.

The street design concept has formed based on socio-cultural approach. The design tries to emphasize on this street as a cultural hub in the city. The design concept also considers the environmental, historical and artistic aspects of the site.
